Finally the helicopter could arrive to recover German, Manolo and Ruben. It has been a busy day with a lot of phone calls trying to go faster. But it has taken a lot of time due to the clouds covering the Kilimanjaro. The balloon is still there, but as said by Juan Cobos, it does not feel cold nor is hungry.
So we are very happy to be all together again and with a more than probable flight tomorrow morning in Tarangire.
Get gas today has been also a big challenge. Today was holiday and the Oryx gas factory was closed. Thanks to Mr. Hamisi, General Manager in Dar and Mr. Salim Abdallah, finally we could fill the cylinders, so we are ready to fly tomorrow.
After arriving to Tarangire for camp, we have entered with the permit to the camp and followed Greame Huston, pilot flying passengers with the balloon in Tarangire, up to the take off place to leave the balloons to fly tomorrow.
Greame has made a short briefing concerning the characteristics of the flight : care with snakes before inflating the balloon and with lions at landing. Also the wind direction and landing places.
We have returned late at the camp site after seeing a lot of elephants and a lioness ready for hunting.
Excited for tomorrow flight as it seems there is a good forecast and everybody should like to fly because we could not fly in Lake Natron.
Tomorrow we will put some picture of the rescue because now they are too tired to ask them for photos.

Finalment l’helicopter ha pogut arribar a rescatar el German, el Manolo i el Ruben. Ha estat un dia complicat amb moltes trucades de telèfon per intentar accelerar-ho però ha sigut molt llarg per culpa dels núvols que tapaven el Kilimanjaro. El globus encara està allà, però com ha dit el Juan Cobos, ell no passa fred ni gana.
Estem molt contents de tornar a estar junts i amb la més que possibilitat de volar demà al matí a Tarangire.
Aconseguir gas ha estat un gran repte. Avui és festiu i la fàbrica de gas d’Oryx estava tancada. Gràcies al senyor Hamisi, General Manager a Dar, i al senyor Salim Abdallah, finalment hem pogut reomplir els cilindres, així que ja estem a punt per volar demà.
Després d’arribar a Tarangire per acampar, hem demanat el permís i en Greame Huston, un pilot que vola a Tarangire, ens ha portat fins al lloc d’enlairament per deixar els globus per l’endemà.
En Greame ens ha fet un petit resum amb les característiques del vol: vigilar amb les serps abans d’inflar el globus i amb els lleons a l’aterrar. També ha parlat de la direcció del vent i dels llocs on aterrar.
Hem tornat al campament al llac desrpés de veure molts elefants i una lleona a punt per atacar.
Tenim ganes del vol de demà, sembla que hi ha una bona previsió meteorològica i tothom vol volar, ja que no vam poder volar al llac Natron.
Demà posarem alguna fotografia del rescat perquè avui estaven molt cansats per demanar-los fotos.

Finalmente el helicóptero ha podido llegar a rescatar a German, Manolo y Ruben. Ha estado un dia complicado con muchas llamadas de teléfono para intentar acelerarlo pero ha sido muy largo a causa de las nubes tapaban el Kilimanjaro. El globo aún está allí pero, como ha dicho Juan Cobos, él no pasa frío ni hambre.
Estamos muy contentos de volver a estar todos juntos y con la probabilidad muy alta de volar mañana por la mañana en Tarangire.
Conseguir gas ha sido un gran reto. Hoy es festivo y la fábrica de gas de Oryx estava cerrada. Gracias al señor Hamisi, General Manager en Dar, y al señor Salim Abdallah, finalmente hemos podido rellenar los cilindros, así que ya estamos listos para volar mañana.
Después de llegar a Tarangire para acampar, hemos pedido permiso y Grame Huston, un piloto que vuela en Tarangire, nos ha llevado hasta el sitio de despegue para dejar los globos para mañana.
Greame nos ha hecho un pequeño resumen con las características del vuelo: vigilar con las serpientes antes de inflar el globo y con los leones al aterrizar. También ha hablado de la dirección del viento y de los sitios donde aterrizar.
Hemos regresado al campamento del lago después de ver muchos elefantes y una leona a punto para atacar.
Estamos con ganas de volar mañana, parece que hay buena previsión y todo el mundo quiere volar, ya que no pudimos en el lago Natron.
Mañana pondremos algunas fotografias del rescate porqué hoy estaba muy cansados como para pedirles fotos.
My congratulations to all who flew the magnificent mountain. I’ve seen it from the air but not by balloon and certainly not so close up. Am waiting impatiently for more photos. Again, to you all, CONGRATULATIONS.
