A LOT OF ACTIVITY INCLUDING SOME BALLOONING

This morning we were at the TO site at 5:30. The truck with the fans was stocked in the sand, so we had just one that we had put inside one basket as prevention.

Unfortunately the wind was quite strong and just one small balloon (The Tekno) could take off So even the tracks is with Aconcagua balloon, the real balloon flown was the Tekno.

TO was really difficult as it was gusty , but the flight was wonderful and the landing quite hard at 45 Km/h just after passing over some zebras.

At the same time the group climbing the Ol Doinyo Lengai were arriving on top.

After breakfast part of the group went to the waterfalls which we recommend for taking a nice rest in a oasis.

In the afternoon after arriving the climbers, we have been in Lake Natron to inspect for a possible landing near the water and also to have a look at the hundreds of flamingos nearby. They can land much more easily than us with this wind…

Tomorrow we try again. The fans arrived and with the experience of today if we have a similar meteo, we hope more balloons can fly.

Demà ho tornarem a provar.
